  • Building emotional resilience

Navigating life’s transitions

Maybe you’re struggling to find your feet at a new school or office. Maybe you’re ramping up to make a major decision. Maybe you’ve come to rely on a network of support, only to find it slipping lately. Or maybe you’re just feeling a bit lost or out-of-sorts, and you’re not exactly sure why.

If you’re a parent reading this, maybe you’re feeling like you don’t recognize your son or daughter anymore, or maybe your recent efforts to help your child cope and flourish have been coming up short.

Moving beyond roadblocks

Together, let’s move beyond the mental roadblocks and anxious feelings that seem overwhelming and are holding you back. I’ll help you reset and reconnect with the feelings of comfort and calm that have gone missing. And, above all, let’s work together to build your sense of empowerment and move through the world on your own terms with feelings of independence, confidence, and pride.

I have more than a decade of experience working as a counselor with young people in public schools, colleges, and private practice. I hold a Bachelor's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master's in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University.

When you walk into my Evanston office, you will find a warm, laid-back setting that is free from judgment. You can expect that I will honor your own sense of process and tailor our counseling sessions to reflect your unique situation, which will evolve as we begin to enact the plan we establish together.

On beginning therapy

“As a beginner to therapy, Amy provided me with a comfortable environment to open up and address my anxiety at my pace. Amy offered techniques to help me cope and a wholistic perspective around the connection of mind and body. I felt extremely supported and encouraged by Amy which led to great outcomes for my life.”

On Amy’s approach

“I cannot recommend Amy enough. Her calm and non-judgmental approach created a safe space for me to open up and be introspective without fear. Through our sessions, Amy guided me to a place of self-acceptance. Her gentle, understanding demeanor made it easier for me to confront difficult emotions and ultimately meet them with curiosity and confidence. I'm incredibly grateful for her support and the positive changes she has helped me achieve.”

    In Network

    Out of Network

    • If your plan is out of network, you may call your carrier to see if your plan offers out of network benefits for psychotherapy. Call the customer service phone number on the back of your insurance card.

    • Also, the app getbetter.co can be a helpful resource to get reimbursed for therapy and various other medical services.

I also accept all major credit cards as well as cash and check.

  • I can meet with you in-person or virtually (or you can switch off depending on what’s convenient for you).

However, I always prefer to meet with clients under 18 in person. With those, some form of parental involvement should be present, and that level of involvement depends on the needs of the client.
